Seminar Room Four, also known as the Founders’ Room, is located on the first floor of the building directly to the left of the Strauss Institute.

Student Seating and Whiteboards

Students have flexible seating with power outlets on the wall. Whiteboards are also located on the wall (pictured right). This photo is from the professor’s view.

Power Outlets

The classroom desks are moveable, and the power outlets can be found on the walls, and on the floor.

Display Screens

There are two display screens: one screen is standard (picture left) while the other is touch-screen and with the ability to be annotated (picture right).

IS Helpline

The IS helpline is a white phone on the equipment cabinet. To use, simply pick up the phone and wait to be connected to a representative.

Smart Control Panel

This is the smart control panel, located on the wall above the IS Helpline Phone (see above picture). Use the left-hand toolbar to turn on and navigate the panel.

Select the class PC function for both screens to display the PC, shown below.

Ceiling Speakers and Microphones

The ceiling microphones are the small round mics set into the ceiling at intervals, while the large ones are the speakers. It is recommended that if there is a quieter student in the class, they sit under the microphones directly so their voice may be better projected.

Blu-Ray

The Blu-Ray console is located underneath the equipment cabinet, as shown below. Please only use the Blu-Ray feature and do not change any other settings in the console without IS assistance.

Note: DO NOT move this equipment cabinet around, as it is connected to cords in the back.

Microphone

The lapel microphone can be located in the charging port, next to the HDMI port. Always return the mic to the charging port when you are finished.

Note the HDMI and USB port is located next to the microphone port.

For the lapel mic, turn it on by switching the “on” switch located at the top of the mic. Clip the mic that is on the end of the cord to your collar or jacket, where it will be close enough to your mouth that you can project your speech to the class.
