Classroom G is located on the first floor of the Law School, at the end of the long hallway in the back of the building next to classroom F.

Professor’s View

These pictures show the professor’s view, which includes an extended monitor as well as the document camera (picture right).

Directly in front of the professor’s monitor table are two screens called confidence monitors.

Confidence monitors mirror the student’s view. This means the picture right screen (blue) will show what is projected on the screen on the professor’s right side, while the left corresponds to the left projector.

The professor’s personal computer, which can be connected to the extended monitors (picture left, out of sight here), will reflect onto the screens as well, showing that your personal monitor is being projected to the class.

Student’s View

This is the student view, where the two projectors (shown here on the ceiling) will project what is shown on the professor’s extended monitors. Behind the projectors are three whiteboards.

Smart Control Panel

The smart control panel is found on the top of the monitor. Power on by pressing the “home” button, then select the displays you wish to use.

On the smart control panel, you have the option to turn on your projector screens by clicking the screen options. There are two projectors which are labeled here as Screen- Audience Right and Screen-Audience Left.

To lower the projector screens, press “Down” on the screen sections notated below. While you navigate between screens, you may also choose to “Blank Screen” button. This freezes the screen so that the instructor can navigate to another page without the students seeing it.

You can also just blank one screen by switching the output to either Zoom PC or laptop (if your laptop is not connected).

To end class and raise projectors/turn off screens, select “End Class”.

You may choose to project the PC monitor onto both projectors by selecting “Class PC” for BOTH right and left screens, or you can show the PC and your personal laptop if it is connected, by selecting “Your Laptop” as one of the options, as shown below. You may also choose to show Blu-Ray on one or both of the screens.

Visual for Zoom

The only camera setting available for Classroom G is the Mini USB. This shows a view of the classroom.

The Video Pro Capture setting is not used for classrooms and will show a no signal page, shown below.

Document Camera (Does not work for Zoom, it only projects through the classroom projector)

The document camera is located on the right of the monitors. The two most important buttons are AF for auto-focus (if the image is blurry, press this button) and AWB for white balance (if the image is discolored, press this button). Below, see the image before and after white balance has been adjusted.

Ceiling Speakers and Microphones

The ceiling microphones are the small round mics set into the ceiling at intervals, while the large ones are the speakers. It is recommended that if there is a quieter student in the class, they sit under the microphones directly so their voice may be better projected.

Power Outlets

The power outlets are located underneath the student desks.

Microphone

The lapel microphone can be located in the charging port, next to the HDMI port. Always return the mic to the charging port when you are finished.

Note the HDMI and USB port is located next to the microphone port.

For the lapel mic, turn it on by switching the “on” switch located at the top of the mic. Clip the mic that is on the end of the cord to your collar or jacket, where it will be close enough to your mouth that you can project your speech to the class.

For the handheld mic, remove from the charging port and turn on by switching the “on” switch up.

Blu-Ray

For the Blu-ray player, only use the top blu-ray disk function. The rest of the console is correctly calibrated and should not be touched. If you are having troubles with audio, etc., call IS support.

Troubleshooting Audio

If there is an issue with audio in the classroom, remember that audio follows the video. Turn your screens on, which are the projectors and confidence monitors, and then try audio again.

Tap on Zoom PC to enable audio.

Phone

The IS Helpline phone can be located on the wall to the left of the professor’s lectern. To use, simply pick up the phone and it will automatically connect you to one of the IS team members.
