Examplify exam-day tips: restart, quit Spotify, close other apps


Before you launch Examplify for a real or mock exam:

  1. Restart your laptop (do not only close the lid).
  2. Quit Spotify and other always-on apps (chat, cloud sync, browsers you do not need). Spotify left running has caused Examplify lock-down failures at other schools.
  3. Close Word, Chrome, and anything else you do not need for the exam.
  4. Temporarily disable all antivirus software for the exam (including Microsoft Defender on Windows) — see ExamSoft’s Disable Your Antivirus Software — and re-enable it after your exam uploads.
  5. Do not install OS updates right before exams; check ExamSoft’s minimum system requirements first.
  6. Take a short mock exam days before the real one so surprises happen early.
