Most U.S. jurisdictions—including the California Bar—use ExamSoft Examplify for laptop-based bar exams. Caruso Law also uses Examplify for school exams so students build familiarity early.
Computer readiness
- Use a reliable laptop you already trust day-to-day.
- If you need a new machine, replace it weeks before the bar so problems surface during normal use—not at the test center.
- Meet the bar exam’s published Examplify requirements for that administration (they can differ from law-school exam requirements).
- Register, install, and run any required mock/practice exams on the same laptop you will bring.
Note: US bar exams use Examplify 3.11.7 (last checked 2026-10-30), not the version used for law-school exams. See ExamSoft’s requirements for US bar exams.
For general Caruso Law computer guidance see published Caruso Law School Computer/Technology Recommendations. Bar software rules come from the State Bar / ExamSoft—not LawTech.
